I don't know if Monte is still doing any gun building these days but there are several fine examples of his work pictured in the book "Steel Canvas" and in the book "Three Centuries of Tradition" 

The rifle pictured in your blog Brice is a real beauty!   Thank you for sharing it!

I remember back in the nineties getting a Leupold Scope Catalog, and I noticed many of the bolt action sporting rifles fitted with Leopold scopes, were custom-made, including one by Monte Manderino.

Folks here who still have their 1977 Gun Digest, will remember the two crossed longrifles on the cover. The steel mounted one was the work of the late John Bivins for my late business partner, Lewis B. Sanchez. The brass mounted rifle was by his understudy, Monte Manderino.

Still nifty(better than nifty the way it shoots.), but that is a Jessie Brennan rifle.  The Mandarino is in Feb.

First 6 shots from the Brennan.  Disregard the top two sighter holes.  There are 4 shots in the group.  50yds. benched.

The scuttle butt is that he’s been spending too much time around Brooks to get much shooting in. Just rumor of course.

Beautiful rifle.  I would not hesitate to use his work as a study piece on acanthus leaf and C scroll carving & modeling, along with the elegant integration of the wire accents.  Very well done.  Thanks for posting.
