New York over/under percussion rifle/shotgun by B & S

I have an interesting piece that had to follow me home. The rear site covered the name on the top flat. It has just as you see stamped  B & S  New York.

I dont have any of the New York books in my library can any one help. I ran across the name of a company call Blunt & Syms in NY City that may be who made this. I see they made percussion pistols, peperbox's and rifles.

Yes, it was made by Blunt & Syms with their office at  No. 177 Broadway, NYC . These solid frame type combination guns are less seldom seen than other type over under percussion guns but are not rare. It looks like it could be a nice shooter if it checks out OK. With its hooked breech held in place by the cross pin, it is easy to remove the buttstock for cleaning the barrels after firing. There is lots of info on that company on the internet
