A friends first attempt at making horns and scrimshaw.

 Wow! The art/carving work is really nice, good start on the horns for firsts.

I am not a fan of the style either but the pure talent is impressive. I've known the maker for awhile and knew he was a talented artist but stopping by one of our club shoots is all it took to inspire him.
Now I need to show him 18th century styles.

I think the talent shown in this first horn says that this person can do any period of horn work that he or she sets the mind and hand to.

Keep the pictures coming as the work progresses.

That is so good, it just makes me want to hang up my scribe.   Just goes to show that a talented artist can do anything they want.
