Just finishing up this silver mounted 36. half stock. Its for the oldest grandchild to start hunting squirrels this coming season. All that's left is a little engraving on the lock.

Just for fun I'll put all 3 up.  Harrison on the top, Roger Sells in the middle (32 cal) and Don Stith 38 cal on the bottom.  Roger's rifle can via a great gentleman, Mr. Bill Warden.  That purchase was one I will never forget.  And it's a story to remember but for another time.

Here's one I just finished from a parts set I got from WayneB. It started as a Knob Mountain Melchior Fordney parts set. I was too chicken to attempt all that carving on birdseye maple so I made a southern rifle instead. 42"X 3/4" .36 caliber getz barrel. Chambers Late Ketland and Davis triggers.  I used a Kibler SMR buttplate and rear sight.  Still playing with loads but so far it's shot great with everything I've put down it

I recently picked up this little Joe Schell halfstock .36 for when I feel like going for the bushytails with a cap gun...

I think so too. I have a soft spot for the dainty little guns.

Thank you! I thought about going a little lighter with it to make the birdseye more dramatic but I like darker finishes so stuck with what I know.

martin9- great looking rifle. With that birdseye maple, it needs no other embellishments.

Einsiedler - that is a really nice rifle. Well done on the rats, too. Looks like a fox squirrel with that red belly, but smallish.

Hey martin9, the rifle turned out great. I'm glad it went to someone who did the wood justice. How much does it weigh? I have another 36 barrel here, trying to decide what style I want to build it in. I also have a 50 cal in 13/16 across the flats, should make a nice light weight piece.

Thanks! I'm happy with how it turned out.... I think my pics make it look chunkier than it is though for some reason. It weighs just a little over 7#s. Holds and shoots really nice. Just waiting on deer season to end here and I'll be taking it after squirrels and rabbits.

I've never seen a .50 barrel that small. That'll make a sweet handling rifle.

Had a lead on this rifle last year and let it get away. Anyone know it's whereabouts or a AB Conley rifle one might buy?
Here’s an Eastern Ky squirrel rifle for ya.  Built in the 70’s by A.B. Conley of Salyersville, Ky.  Barrel is a .36 caliber, 13/16 x 42, made by Burgess Cassidy who got his start making barrels with Rex Maxey.  The lock is a small Siler built by Herman Stone.
