It’s intended to represent a Carolina or Type G trade gun, and is a current reproduction. If it works well and handles well, should be a fun gun. It could go on a diet if you feel like working on it.

Can’t buy parts for that. If all functions well I know some guys in my club that are looking for a smoothbore. It would go fast.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

The red stock kinds looks that way, Mike. That is the colour of them. The grain structure also looks similar.
The lock is different from the ones I saw, though.
Also, the bore is smaller on this one, appears a 20 bore. Lots of space between the bottom of the barrel channel
and the ram rod groove.

Mystery solved.   Pulled the lock and barrel.    Made in India.

What's the bore size, it looks 20bore-ish.

Before shooting it, I would pull the breech plug and check threads and their # and engagement/fit.
