Newest Sheath
« on: May 07, 2021, 07:39:21 PM »
I pulled together this simple pouch-type sheath that has a few added dress up features.  I hope you all enjoy it.

Best wishes,   Marc

That is really super nice; very dressy.   The buckle is an over the top touch.

Neat work! Reminiscent of western style buckle holsters.

Nice Marc, clean fine work, and your tooling style and look is always impressive and the buckle and belt loop tied together is unique to me!

I have been looking for a means to avoid the "rough side out" appearance of the belt loop - and thank you for providing the answer.  Really a nice looking sheath.  And I do have some nice leather for making one, just have to find - or make -  a buckle.

Nice. A fancy Bowie knife would look good in a sheath like that.

Looks good, is that for your Gahagan knife?

Hi Robert, that sheath fits a small Willyard knife.  I still need to make another sheath for the Gahagan knife.

R.J., that pouch type sheath wouldn't work for a bowie or a crossguard knife.  Bowie knives are a bit more challenging to sheath in my opinion.

Craig, Richard Lanni is who made that cast brass buckle.

Greg, go for it.  With your talent it'll certainly top what I can do.

Best wishes to all,  Marc

Thanks, Marc.  I do have some 0.125" brass plate I can use to make 2 or 3 of them, just saw out of flat stock and file a bit.

Is really a cool sheath.  I am very partial to those with most of the hilt hidden, no hold down strap.  When I shape them, they are tight enough to avoid careless loss.
