I want to thank "oldgunguy" Bernie Tulino for donating proceeds of the first knife sold to ALR

These blades normally sell for $67.50 postpaid but Bernie (aka oldgunguy) has graciously made them available to ALR members for $50 each postpaid in lower 48 ( 10% extra charge extra for me to ship your blade past the Mississippi river) to ALR members directly from Bernie at the address below.

Description below is from Bernie:

This blade shape was copied from one that was found at Fort Ticonderoga in a grave I believe. Hence the name.

The blade is made from file steel and has a hammered forged finish. The finish is left black but you can clean it up bright if you like. Blade Size is about 9 1/4" or so, and 1 1/4" wide at its widest, and about 3/16" thick at the guard. The tang is about 5" long.

I'd like to order one knife,  please.  I will mail a check to you today,  thank you.  Are there any suggestions for a handle?  What are you doing to finish the knife?

Thank you for your order, I do have a few blades left, no axes at this time. If you look on my site pioneerarms .com you will see how I put a handle on them.   Bernie,

I did notice the handle already on.  Please excuse my ignorance but does the knife come with a handle?  I assumed it did not have a handle.  Oh well,  live and learn.  If I am still incorrect at least I have spent a few hours learning how to make a handle today.  Thanks for the replies.  Payment mailed earlier today.

oldgunguy; Sir, the book I'm listing. "AMERICAN PRIMITIVE KNIFES 1770 - 1870". By Gordon B. Minnis. Printed by "Museum Restoration Service". Bloomfield Ontario Canada KOK 1go. 1983. Reference plate #1 page # 18, for handle information and blade dimensions Side note: the knife was reported found in an earthwork near Fort Ticonderoga in 1777. Have a great day. AJ.
