First hunting pouch attempt
« on: May 19, 2021, 02:45:45 AM »
Well fellows here it is, my first hunting pouch. Wasn't real sure what I was doing but I did it any ways and had fun. It's pretty much a copy of the bag Ethan made in his NMRLA video I just made my own templates. I also made the horn strap that's on the awesome Tim Crosby southern banded screw tip horn that tops it all off. Thanks Tim , still love it. I put an inside pocket in the back of the bag and I learned real quick I don't need 6/7oz leather, but hey it gave me a good workout sewing it all up,LOL. Just thought I would give you guy's a chance to take a look and maybe give me a little critique. Since this bag was completed I did buy some 3/4 and4/5 oz veg tan. I just made templates and cut out my next bag. It's going to be 3/4oz body lined with coffee stained pillow ticking and 4/5oz flap and strap. Thanks for taking a look and any suggestion would be appreciated.

Hey Dan,

That looks like a fine bag, and very traditional to boot.  It'll only get better with time and use.  It certainly looks better than my first bag.

God Bless,   Marc

I also made several bags in the past, but can say that my first bag was not that good 😬

Looks good. Can we see a few more views, more angles? Inside?

Dan, be proud. As noted, your stitching looks wonderful and the bag itself is nicely symmetrical. I've made several over the years and I'd be ashamed to put up my best one with yours.

Pretty good job and definitely something I'd be proud to carry in the woods or around town.
