I've rebarreled more than one or two TCs over the years due to fiberglass rods. I stay away from fiberglass like the plague. Wood is the way to go, but I also use Delrin at the range or when hunting. Someone also makes a wooden rod with a steel core which ought to be great if not too heavy. Expensive, though. I have always wondered about breaking a wooden rod back in the mountains somewhere and shoving it through my hand or wrist. For the same reason, I only use knives with guards in the back country. One slip with a slick knife and you're bleeding with nerve damage.
