There is another Queens Rangers Bess pictured in "Muskets of the Revolution" by Bill Ahearn. The barrel markings appear legit to me. Also the wrist plate sounds like it is marked similarly to the one on the book, although there is no picture on the site. There is something wrong with the lock. The hammer is wrong and it doesn't seem to match the barrel quite right. It could just be a bad reconversion. I'm not sure what to make of the shortening. Maybe it was used for horse service during its Revolutionary War serice, but I would guess probably cut down later (only a guess
). Still, with the Queens Rangers markings, it is very neat!
