NW Gun Identification

Well, what do we make of this? I haven't seen the parts in person in years but my "eyes" says she thinks the rounded tail was made that way, not result of rust and she cannot see any stamps on lockplate.

These were found near a known Cayuse village about 25 miles from Fort Nez Perces (NW Co)/Fort Walla Walla (HBC). They are unlikely to date later than 1847. Residents of this village and neighboring Walla Walla village were known to travel widely and conduct business at Green River Rendevous. Note rear sight on barrel and apparent lack of sixteen sided transition. Rear serpent screw is wood screw.

Round tail, gooseneck cock, no transition between octagon and round.
Probably not English.
