I ask do the DVDs selling from KRF shop offer good ref material for building?

The KRF CD's offer all the dimensions you would need to scale your build off the computer, such as lock length, patchbox length, barrel length, etc. They also offer very high quality photography of some of the best guns. Each rifle has ten to twelve shots of the rifle. Usually 3/4 length of each side, patchbox closeup, carving closeups, trigger guards, etc. They are great for tracing off carving and engraving patterns.

The KRF CD's are a great tool.  I have an old laptop in the shop i use with the cd's.  I can blow up items like, patchbox components, sideplates, etc. to the correct proportion on the screen, then trace them with tracing paper right off the screen.  Great reference material.

Yes. Next best thing to having the original guns in hand. In addition to what others have said, you can zoom in and closely study things like engraving cuts and other small details.
