I received my answer to lessons.  " NO lessons for you."  The guy is some famous world beater when it comes to carving.  Back to the drawing board.  I  can't travel across several states for lessons.  I need a different approach.  I must do it myself for a while and see what develops.

Kibler has a video out there...I don't recall where. But, It's a great one that shows how he carves. I think I watched a carving video by Jack Brooks which is good too. Everyone uses slightly different methods to carve, you have to eventually do what works best for you.

Check with Jason Gatliff of Muzzleloader magazine who operates A,Eric an Pioneer Video at americanpioneervideo.com. He has several carving videos of Jack Brooks, Wallace Gusler, and Mike Miller. Each of these master builders carve a little different and you can learn something different from each. Also study contemporary and original carving examples as much as you can. Copy some of these by tracing and try designing some of your own using elements you learn. When you find a design you really like, as one instructor taught me, draw and re-draw that design many times until you are doing it almost from memory and it will help you learn to draw your own designs easier. Thanks for posting JK's videos Hutch.  It is appreciated by me.  Those are very sound words of wisdom Elkhorne,  thank you.  The more I do the more I can do,  and the luckier I get.
