Any good way to cut a lead bar?

I melted up several hundred pounds of reclaimed lead with the fish cooker. 400 or 600, don't remember.

Cut an old 20 pound Lp tank in half.

Bought several stacks of corn bread pans, different sizes and shapes. They all fit into my Lee 10 pound pots.

Now I have a large tub of corn bread that I cannot move.

Hacksaw with cutting oil for the blade and cold beer for lubrication of the operator.

The old-timer that got me interested in black powder shooting would just use an old hatchet and stump.  He'd chunk it up and just add the pieces as needed to the lead pot.

I once got 400+ lbs. of lead sheeting that had an oily paper on the back and I would cut chunks of the stuff off with a large heavy knife and throw it into the pot to clean it up and burn the paper off.

If you are going to use a torch, I’d make sure you are “upwind.”  I suspect that even though you probably are not heating it to boiling, there would still be some vaporization, however slight.

I had a counterweight out of a large milling machine. It weighted 3400 lbs and 10 inches thick at thinnest dimension. Built a wall of cardboard around it and went at it with a chainsaw. Ended up with a lot of 40 lb blocks.

The only way! A Skill Saw Model 77 worm Gear with one of your dull blades.I cut half way thru a pig,flip it over ,cut on thru.I sweep the shop floor before cutting then sweep up the lead shavings to melt down.the worm gear doesnt have the RPM's as a regular skill saw.Wear safety glasses! I also use my chop saw for thinner pieces.

Bought some lead pigs awhile back, fella mentioned suspending it above the lead pot to melt it in useable portions.  Of course bad things could happen if the entire bar accidentally slipped and dropped in the pot.

If you don't have a power saw,get a blade for a reciprocating hacksaw,a heavy one and grind a tang on it like a file and put a handle on it.I did this and it worked fine.These blades have a very coarse set of teeth.
