Buzzard rifle making small steps(more photo's)
« on: June 29, 2021, 04:01:44 AM »
Most of my time lately has been taking care of babies instead of work. I have managed to get the rest of the patchbox inlet and the trigger guard forged out. I have a few of the silver inlays cut out also. Inlays are probably my least favorite thing on a rifle to do but I like how they can really make a difference in looks. I hope to have this finished up for the CLA along with a few more projects. I'll probably be burning the lamp at midnight here soon to get things done.

That's a better than average stump for that buzzard to roost on .  .    .        .  Baby sitting instead of buzzard sitting.

Managed to get some more work done the buzzard. I have most if the key inlays cut out and inlet some of them. Finished shaping the forearm too. Hopefully  more inlays in this week as well as the patchbox latch.

Dana, it's a .54 and 44" long. I think the original had a 46" barrel and .52 caliber.
