Early Style Horn With Repair

It is about 11 1/2" around the outside curve. The 2 1/2" butt is Pine held with four wooden pegs. The repair is over a soft spot, made of a piece of Deer hide.

"Muskrat Mike" is a very happy camper. I just talked Tim out of this horn! It is going to be part of the kit to go with my Don Bruton made .54 caliber "cobbled" together rifle. HOORAY!

Nice horn!

Did you use glue for hide repair or just the stitches?

Nice catch, Mike!  I’ve always liked lobed horns, and that’s a good one!

Yes, there is a coat of glue on the leather.

Ok, thank you. What glue do you use to glue leather to horn?

 Titebond works for me.
