W. Martin

Does anyone have info on gunsmith W. Martin ?  No pictures at this time  full stock percussion brass mounted. It looks to be around 1850 or so.

There are probably several W. Martin gunsmiths, so without pictures it's a guess. There was a William Martin (1810-1901)
 who worked at Leesville in Lawrence Co., Indiana. His best working years would fit your estimate of the rifle.  Shelby Gallien

I checked Jerry Noble's huge "Gun Trade in America" book. He listed 11 gunsmiths with first initial "W" and last name "Martin." Shelby Gallien
