Pipe Hawk
« on: July 27, 2021, 03:15:06 PM »
The head is a Davis, it is 6" long, the Brass cap is threaded 5/16-18 for the plug and held by 3 small nails. The haft is hand done, not on a lathe, it is 18 1/4" long. I think it is the one I drilled in the Tutorial. The mouth piece and bands are pewter. A couple of pix below show some of the process.

Tim makes wonderful pipe hawks. Here is mine. It is one I recently got from Bob McBride. It was made in 2020 has a bronze head with a 6 1/4 -inch blade, a 19 1/4 -inch shaft has poured pewter and inlaid brass fittings and a turned wood clean out plug. It came with a sheath made for it by Doug Schwartz.

Great hawk Tim. Nice pewter pours too. That's all a ton of work.
Turned out very nice.
