Larger Shoulder Bag

This is a larger shoulder bag I made up a few weeks ago. It is 13 1/4" high by 12 3/4" wide. Flat sewn, it has an internal divider and a large pocket on the inside rear panel. The bag has two die forged iron buckles for flap closure and a larger one for strap adjustment. I guess I had modern use for carrying a book, mini laptop, papers, etc. in my head when I made this but made it with an 18th century styling so it could also be used for trekking/hunting as well. Heck, I guess the Jolly Green Giant could use it as a small shot bag.

That's a pretty classy satchel, James. I like even my stuff for use in modern life to have an 18th Century flair. Well done.

I see another beautifully done bag. Great color and finish and I like the double flap fastening arrangement. Lovely work as always James. God Bless, Marc

James, that is just gorgeous!! What spacing do you use with your stitches? Looks like Finer than 5, maybe 6

Dan,
I never go smaller than 7 to the inch unless making a militia rev war period cartridge box. I generally like to work 9-12 to the inch for those who appreciate and can afford it. I have worked at 14 on many things. Here is an old original at 32 to the inch!!
