Hi Dan,
Nice photos and tutorial on your project.  What are you building?  It appears to be an English fowler?  What lock?  Are the components modern or old?  Looks like good English walnut, my favorite!

Sorry for the delay in posting, but I've been working on firewood and forge work, and not back in the shop till latter in October.

I hear ya.  Been working on firewood all summer.  Now archery season is here.  My stickbows need time in the woods.
