We have room for one more student in our plank building class. The class will be held at the NMLRA education building Oct 24-28th. We will be building an early Lancaster rifle. We will be using a swamped .58 rifled barrel with a nice hard maple blank. Siler delux lock, Davis set triggers  and sand cast brass mounts. We'll be starting with a blank that has the barrel inlet and ramrod hole drilled. This is an excellent opportunity to step up your game with instruction by professional gunstockers.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Heck, I might even drop in for a little bit on the first day of class.

We will be on our way home from Oak Ridge TN and the Creedmoor 150 matches.

Mike, just curious - who did you find for the Professional Gun Stockers?

And I DID try to get that time available, but my cat sitter quit on me.
Some guy called called Huge Toenails. ;)

What's the details on next year's? Same time, build, capacity, and price? If not decided yet just let me know.
Here’s our schedule for next year:
March 21-25 Kibler kit class. Contact me if you’re interested in a slot in the class.
April 10-14 stock shaping class (providing that the original build it from the blank class can all attend). 6 maximum.
July 10-14 stock carving and inlay class (8 maximum). Contact me for a slot in the class.
August 21-25 To be announced. This date will either be another kit class or a finish up with the build from a blank class.
A lot of the class dates and such will depend greatly on the progress and ultimately the desired outcome of our blank class students. Mike and I are going to play this this by ear and see what works best for everyone. We are after all a couple of retired codgers.
I haven’t negotiated pricing with the NMLRA yet but you should expect to pay in the neighborhood of $500.00 for an honest 4 3/4 days of intensive training.
As for next year’s plank class, the OP and I haven’t hashed that one out yet.
