Was wondering if any of Yinz had any experience with The gun builder Allen Martin . I don’t run in the gun builders circle....so just looking for any input on his work....and if he is still building and taking orders. Thanks !

He is one of the best makers working today. Definitely at the top of the ladder. I suspect he has a backlog of work. He posts occasionally on ALR.

I talked to him at the Stoner Creek fest. He said he was 42 guns behind. He does good work.

That’s awesome ! Looks like I’ll be on the lookout for a used one...if they even come up. I’ll too old to hold one up....if I took the #43 spot...lol

Jim Chambers still has 2 VERY NICE Martin rifles for sale from the Roughton collection at a very reasonable price. I have inspected them both and they are dandies that you can get without the wait. Give him a call!

He does outstanding work and a fun guy to talk to. You wouldn't regret getting one of his rifles.

He might still have access to a couple of his rifles that he was selling for a past customer if you contact him.

A great builder and friend. I have the "Busty Brunette" he built for me a few years back....... and NO, its not for sale.

I have been trying to get one for years, they don't come up very often.

I was lucky a month ago and bought one of his schimmels. It is an early John Newcomer Lancaster style in .58. Have not shot it yet, has been too wet here in Pittsburgh.

I remember Allen well. Very nice fellow. I even got to do some scraping on a rifle he had at Dixon's, so many years ago.
