Peter Troxel of Stark County, Ohio?
« on: September 04, 2021, 09:24:06 PM »
I have been researching the gunsmith Peter Troxel of Bedford County, Pennsylvania (1798) and nearby Washington County, Maryland (1805). I suspect he is the Peter Troxel who moved to Plain Township, Stark County, Ohio in 1814 and died there in 1848. Does anyone have any information on that Peter Troxel of Stark County, whether or not it is gunsmith related? Here’s what I have so far:

I found enough info tonight to prove that the gunsmith Peter Troxel moved to Stark County Ohio. The proof is based on his daughter Catherine's death record naming her parents and her place of birth, and the biography of Catherine's husband Jonas Hosler, which indicates he met Catherine on her father's Stark County farm.
