Peep sight blanks

I found this in McMaster Carr web catalog. I ordered one along with some left handed drill bits. Part # 3798K55 $10.87. Alloy steel. The hole is 3/16 ID. So it would make a Ghost ring for close work. The threads need extended with a die stock, and it generally needs a bit of a Diet. But it makes a good off the shelf starting point. It may be a helpful shooting aid for those like me whose eyes are going south. BJH

IF they are available with an unthreaded shank either of .160 or .187 it could be threaded to a 40 thread per inch and have a
.025 movement per full turn like a micrometer.As it is now it is a thumb screw and nothing else.

Why does the .025" thread matter? Different sight radius' are going to make each rifle's adjustments individual anyway - or am I missing something?

Just my idea because of the association of .025 with precision measurement and  wanting a sight that doesn't look like a bolt.
I thought sight radius was determined by the length of the barrel and the distance between the front and rear sights.
It also comes from my ability to make a better looking sight whenever I need one.

Many of the original aperture sights of the 1800's had 80 inch pitch threads
