It the only pic I have at the moment. My cousin found it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It’s a surface find and therefore is unlikely to have been lying there more than 70 years. It looks “pirate pistol” to me.

So you think it’s a replica of a pirate type pistol? Good point about the surface find.

Cocked with the frizzen closed. Once unloaded and examined, that might tell you something. Whoever picks it up should be careful with it.

Looks like a Turkish or ME gun that some kids lost in the woods while playing with it. Wood is too good to have been exposed to the elements for very long.
Rich is right in his assessment in my opinion.

Definitely looks like an Ottoman Empire type pistol (southeast Europe, North Africa, and Middle East). Is the stock actually a metal alloy not wood or wood with metal around it? That style was popular in the Balkans (southeastern Europe).

I may be crude, but if it were I who found this, it would have been picked up and looked at quite rapidly.

I don’t think those dry dead weeds under the muzzle are 70 years old. ::)

New.  Was dropped recently on surface.  Appears to be resting on post burn needle cast.  Wouldn't find anything of the sort on such a surface unless it was dropped there within the last couple months.

My guess would be that some kid was playing with a Mediterranean decorator pistol and left it in the woods. It hasn't been at that location very long.

I wasn’t the one who found it. My cousin found it and only took this pic. He then gave it to the police. If he gets it back I will inspect it and post more pics.
