Every Tenn guard I ever tried to use was pure $#@*, and most of them come from the same place ! After
breaking 3-4 of them, started heating them red hot & bending them. They are all investment cast with
whatever was discarded from a cheap casting plant. I welded up all of mine with a wire welded & did use
them, but always the same issue starting out.
I finally made some forms & started making my own. Make them out of flat iron & shape it how I want,
weld it up & grind a bit & go. Yes it is allot more trouble than the $21. the cast guard cost, but it doesn't
break every time someone slams a car door.
If ya make a couple of forms out of oak to bend around you can make a nice guard. I make the bow first,
then front part, then the rail, then the tail of it.
Lay the stock over a piece of cardboard & draw the outline of it.
Lay your triggerguard pieces on the outline as ya weld it up & bend it so when ya get done it is real close to
fitting.
Now that i made the molds, when I make one I make 3-4 at same time.
