Finally got a chance to view the presentation, Scott, and as everyone agrees, it is superb.  Thanks so much for the digging and revealing that you do.  There are many of us "students of the longrifle" who are extremely appreciative of all your efforts.

Scott, your reasoning for signed products as authentication makes perfect sense. The Joseph Perkin lock on the Oerter griffin rifle and his latter lock work at the forge on the Rappahannock were all signed. When F Kleete took over the lock making at the forge, his locks bore his stamp as well. Speculative reasoning but it does make sense.
