I’ve allways used the old rule of one grain per caliber, for a starting point for working up a load with black powder. Topping out at 2 grains, unless the barrel mfg says differently. In my .45 cal rifle I’m presently using 65 gr fffg for a target load. I don’t hunt with my .45. I use my .58 for hunting. BJH
