Question @ Kibler Colonial's Barrel Diameter?
« on: November 28, 2021, 03:49:27 AM »
For those of you familiar with the Kibler Colonial kit, is there enough barrel wall thickness at the smallest part of the barrel's waist, to allow Bobby Hoyt to enlarge the barrel to a .60 caliber, or .62 caliber?

I would love to have a Kibler Colonial in .60 caliber with Bobby Hoyt 's famous gain twist rifling.

Thanks

Hi,
Call Jim.  You have 2 things going for you, the barrel blanks are Green Mountain so they are 1127 steel and the barrel lugs are milled from the blanks not dovetailed or staked into the barrel.

Jim already offers the kit in .58 cal. I doubt any deer will notice the difference between that and a .60. I know for a fact deer find my .58 deadly poisonous. :D BJH

Mine measure 0.798" at the waist.   60 cal + 0.020 (x2)  for grooves is 0.64 .  .798 - .640 =  0.158  / 2 =  0.079 walls.

I fixed a math error next day
