Well Paulitis, you've done a wonderful job of it. Very nice indeed and I think the colour fits the gun.
The grain structure (early growth lines) on the bottom, sides & top of the wrist makes me think ash.

I too was wondering if it could be ash but only from the underside. Very nice clean work!

I like that one. You have to be proud of the shell at the tang.

The incised carving on your previous rifles (3?) that you have posted here was good, but the raised carving on this fowler is head and shoulders above your incised carving, IMO.
Congratulations on a really fine effort.

As someone remarked earlier.... clean! Very nice crisp work culminating in beautiful fowler. 'Love the 'off beat' use of curly ash to boot.

That's an elegant gun. I like everything about it, but the carving is particularly well executed.

Exceptional work there! And since Mike hasn't chimed in yet, I'll use his word and say, "Nifty!"

Very nice work. Clean and well executed. The only thing I might have to offer is the return on the butt piece looks a bit naked, compared to the rest of your art on the gun. BJH

Don't think I've seen a fowler done in ash before. I've carved ash on furniture, not easy. you did a great job.
