I did a little demo for a shooting club of forging a pipe axe from a gun barrel. Here it is all filled and fire blued.

a 6" piece of 50 cal-1" barrel. 1st-neck down for the bowl.2nd-hot punch and drift the eye. 3rd-draw out the blade. 4th-cut the end for the piece of file for the cutting edge and weld. finally draw out the rest of the blade.
