A new walnut one
« on: November 29, 2021, 02:30:01 AM »
Just finished this. The walnut blank is from Keith Lisle, the lock is Liston Rice's round tail Nock and the triggers are also by Rice. The barrel is a 40 cal 40" Rice JLR. All metal finished with Mark Lee's Express Blue.

Especially nice plank and well done. Nice to see a bit of curl in the forend, too. Adornment for a plain rifle. Love it.

Like Rich said, the fine, crisp lines and finishes turn a simple rifle to elegant. You certainly did justice to the nice stick of wood, and leave us wanting to see more of your work! Congrats and thanks, Bob

I have been watching your work for years, it just gets better and better.  I miss the chats we had at the CLA shows all those years.    Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the compliments guys. This was a fun build. Unfortunately, I don't get to keep it. It will be heading to North Carolina. The walnut blank was a pleasure to work with. Here are a couple pics of the blank as received from Keith Lisle.

David Price, I always enjoyed those chats. I learned a lot from you. I still have that last swivel breech kit I got from you. Hopefully, I'll get to it in the near future. Too busy with other people's stuff right now.

Someone's going to be strolling around with a smug smile on their face carrying that rifle.  Nice work!
