Couple new pistols

Text coming soon
Here are a couple pistols just finished too. It amazing what one can get done when we feel good.
Percussion pistol was built in 2014 from a piece of s Georgia am bl walnut/ granite. Hardest walnut I ever seed. Barrel is a piece of 15/16 50 cal cutoff, lock is antique perc. All mounts  are copper made by me.
I was shaping up the maple flinter, and got the ol perc out and went at it with the 49 and other tools of resurrection am much happier with the results
 Now for the flinter.
Wood was a blank from the late Freddie Depoy, barrel too, he had had it many years. I had it for 4 years before beginning on it.
The more extra wood I removed, the more the grain popped out, like it was waiting to be freed. The grip just blows me way, before staining there are obvious 3 rings verticle with crosses in them, other side similar.
 Barrel is .45 ca 12" 13/16.
Lock is a Maslin by Dean Mitton, still sparking good. Trig guard is antique, with tail by me.
Had a good time building these 2 in the middle of several rifles. I think I got my pistol fix taken care of.
 Thanks for looking.
 Best regards, Dave f 8) 8)

Looking good, Dave.
That caplock's hammer would hit more squarely if the nipple was a mite shorter- as long
as the main spring doesn't break out the bottom of the lock mortise, that is.

Thanks guys. I appreciate yall
Cory Joe, heres pics of silver guard

Daryl, the old hammer is counter bore and concave inside and fits the nipple better than it looks.
Anyway, it goes boom first time.
Thanks for getting me to re zammin the thing.
Best regards to all. Dave 8) 8)

You drill pin holes like I do, I have never made a gun that didn't have an errant pin hole that had to be filled and re-drilled.

Thanks Eric, I try really hard to NOT do this, but on this old guard, already drilled almost 1/8 on the lug, to get it tight I had to try a couple  spots.
I had a few booboos on this blank, due to my eyes or just plain ol geezin, if I had a wood burning stove we wouldnt be looking at this pistol, but I tossed it in the corner for a while, then manned up and went at it again.
Have a wunnerful evening fellows. Dave F 8) 8)

Those are fine looking pistols and I like both, with the flint being my favorite.
