Just a few feet outside my door I have several backstops, 25yds,35yds and 70yds. In front of these backstops hang tin cans or steel gongs. Seems a couple times a week these cans and gongs get hostile ideas so I have to step outside and put down the rebellion before it gets out of hand. It's only common sense to keep a longrifle loaded (empty pan) for just these emergencies. Then of coarse there are often whaskily wabbits, squirrels or coyotes. There are modern guns around the house but I enjoy shooting my muzzleloaders and with the cost and decline of reloading componants it's much cheaper as well.
