Flat Horn With Screw Tip
« on: January 18, 2022, 01:09:19 AM »
This one is after a horn on pages 70-71 of Art DeCamp's "Pennsylvania "Horns of the Trade" Screw-tip Powder Horns and Their Architecture". It is listed as a "late Philadelphia Style Horn"
It is about 11 1/2" long not counting the stopper, about 3" wide and 1 1/4 thick. The base is Walnut held by 6 Copper pins, the staple on the original is Copper, I used steel. The collar and the tip are horn (Thanks Jim) The tip is threaded to the collar 1/2-13. Color is from some Pine cones that had cinnamon on them left over from Christmas and some paste wax.

That's a neat one Tim.  The "repaired" one you sent me does good work priming.
