I need.....

A piece of yellow birch,not necessarily Canadian,suitable for a gunstock,For an upcoming potential project.

I stocked a double barreled shotgun in yellow birch - owner's request.  I'll not do another.  The wood is soft, delicate, and requires staining of course, but it is tender to inlet locks into.

I was thinking Dunlap's also.

Not having too much experience with YB other than a wood floor or two,It seems a plain piece of maple  gives the same appearance also.Or am I way off base here?
