Bob, you need to go out with your Mickey Mouse Boots three heavy coats and a rifle with a 12-inch trigger reach. Going to be hard to load the gun with heavy mittens on LOL.  Glad I did all my subzero adventures when I was too dumb to know that it could kill me.

I'm posting this for those who think a .40 is small.  Daryl took this picture of a #3 buckshot (.250" ball) on a .020" thick denim patch that is about 5/8" dia.  Once started into the muzzle with a starter (bulger) they load easily with a 1/4" ramrod.  But one must be careful and use short strokes with that skinny stick.

I guess I will have to build a muzzleloading BB gun. I will use copper plated BB's for balls. 5grains of 4f should make a load more than capable of killing pack rats. Probably be pretty quiet.

We camp and hunt in this kind of weather, without much trouble. . The first and even the 2nd shot aren't a problem. It's the 3rd, 4th and 5th that freeze my fingers off ! ;D

I can't do it anymore either Bob...a sustained shooting session numbs my fingers and it isn't fun anymore.  Today is going to be +5 C here with brilliant sunshine, so Daryl and I are headed to the range in an hour.

Home now. Had a decent target and a few not so decent.
The 2 X's are in the 6 'oclock and 5 o'clock location on the X ring.
The 12 o'clock hole is not 50% in the outside of the white line.
I'm out of balls and need to cast some more. Also out of 2F GOEX, so I used 3F today.
I do have some 1F so that will be what will be used next. The 3f shot OK, though. I accidentally
double charged the first shot of the second target. LOL 160gr. 3F - that one kicked a bit just about
knocked me off the folded table I was sitting on. It may have had a minor effect on that group. ;)

You can get .177 lead balls from Gamo, same with .220" lead RB's.

They use the same picture for their .22 Gamo RB's.

Daryl outshot me today, dangit!  For whatever reason, my shooting today was sloppy.  But still, it was most enjoyable.  I find any day shooting is better than any day working.
My target from the other day still stands as my best effort so far, but here, for your perusal, are my two best targets today.

Thanks everyone for posting to February's Postal match.
As I got it started for snrub47, I will finish it, I guess. I wanted to give him an opportunity to do this. It is time to get March underway, though.
As Taylor posted 2 50 2X's, using his .60 and a .25 to my single 50 2X with my .69, I will declare him winner.
So- Taylor, up to you for March.Congratulations and good shooting.
