Horn With Three Bands & A Patch
« on: February 20, 2022, 04:01:11 PM »
It is about 13 1/3" around the outside curve and 11 3/4" tip-to-tip. The butt is Walnut and about 2 1/4" wide, it is hollowed out about 3/4ths its length and held in by 3 Steel pins. The tip is of two pieces of antler, held to the horn with 3 pins. Each band is also held by 3 pins each. The patch is of leather and is sewn together and glued in place. There is no hole just a soft spot, with the patch you can't tell it is there.

Beautiful horn.  I like the turned tip.  Really nice work.  Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of another one of yours with a "patch". You can't believe all the positive comments I have received on that horn. this one exceeds mine, whoever gets this will be one lucky person.
