Bumping this to the top.  Surely there's someone out there that is interested and meets these requirements!   Where else is someone with these skills going to make 80k per year and learn a tremendous amount in the process?

Thanks,
Jim

Wish I was a little younger, and a lot more talented!
I can't recall the guys last name right now, but there was an excellent guy "Tony" that worked with Ray Woodall years ago at Centermark?

Wish this had been two years ago when I had sold my old place and was trying to decide where to go.  NE Ohio isn't in my top choices of areas, ranking of which primarily has to do with hunting, but could have been interesting.  Too well settled in my new place now...although if you were in far south or SE part of the state with all those big National Forests it would be tempting.

I wish I was only 70 again.
I don’t play with others very well. And I wish I was 70 again too.
Besides I worked in a gun factory but only as a contractor. Don’t do 8-5 in a building well either. Or even outdoors.

I do play well with others(within reason) and have 33 years machine shop experience, plus grew up on a small farm running buzzsaw and hammer mill off a belt on an old John Deere tractor....I might be useful around a sawmill.
However, the only muzzleloader I have ever built from a "plank" was a simple pistol at age 16 in shop class. I machined the sights from billet and bored the barrel (smoothbore) and made the breech plug from scratch. It was not a beautiful pistol but could hit a paper plate at 35 feet.
Also I have never attempted to artistically carve anything except a peg head scroll on a mountain dulcimer, much simpler than a violin scroll.
There are probably Many on this forum that would love to work at a place like Kibler Longrifles, but to have more than even 70% of the skills listed AND be in a position to relocate definitely will THIN the herd. I wish Jim all the best in his search.

They say it's never to late. But in my case it's at least fifty years. Spent 38 years in a machine shop running about everything in it at one time or another. From lathes, drilling machines to Mills to C.N.C. The last few ( 15 ) in quality control.
Been a hobby gun builder for years. Most were scratch built but the old hands are not what they use to be..!
Plus I been retired for a longtime. Working in a shop again would not be what I would do again... Ever..!
But I sure hope you find the right person Jim..  Me I'm going back to my cave.....

Jim, I can't believe you haven't found someone yet. Building rifles at the salary you have posted should be a dream job for most builders. I would apply myself but I am baby sitting full time right now.

I can believe it.  Skilled labor in any industry is in very short supply right now.  I am the only builder I know below the age of 60 other than Shane Emig; gun building seems very much like a gig for retirees and people out of the work force.  I would apply but I don't think my skills are enough to do this for pay.  Hopefully by the time I'm in my 60s.
