Sideplates for english pistol

Hi looking for ideas,pictures ect for  a side plate
    I wanted to use a plate other than the fancy hard to inlet
     cast plate

Hi,
Here is a plate made from sheet brass that is a little different.  It is actually not that hard to inlet except the tassel loops require care.  It is also a plate that really doesn't require engraving.



Here are 2 more on original fowlers.





All of these could be scaled down for a pistol.

Those are great looking, but that top one looks like it would require a lot more inletting skill than I have. ;D

This Jaeger has no side-plate, just two rebated washers and silver wire inlay.  The contrasting stain inside the inlay is an interesting touch

Hi,
Here is another, one of my favorites, but it is cast.  Simple steel, brass, or silver washers also look nice and are very authentic for the late 18th and 19th centuries.
