This is the only gun I built this past winter.

Just past my 84th birthday so I thought I would slow down and build something very contemporary and enjoy the build.  It kind of took on a life of it's own.  Once  I got  started on it  the ideas just kept coming into my head. The locks and frizzens and front sights are made from Damascus steel.  The patch box door, inlays, and toe plate are made from black cow horn. You will either like it or hate it.  My son really liked it so I put the Masonic inlay in the patch box,  and gave it to him.  O yes, I did enjoy the build.

The gun isn't quite finished yet.  I must replace the stainless steel screws in the barrel inlays with steel and brown them and rub the whole thing down with pumice after it sets for another week.

O yes.   I forgot to mention the barrels.  One is 32 inches long 54 cal. one riffled one smooth.  One is 30 inches long 54 cal. both riffled.  The third is 28 inches long 54 cal.  both smooth.  That should cover it all.

Well it certainly looks like it was a winter well spent!  Absolutely amazing, and the triple sets of barrels make it over the top indeed!  ;D  Great work from a Master Craftsman.

When I saw this gun at the shop earlier this year is was in unfinished state.Nice work David,it really came together nicely. I'm sure David will have many years afield with it.
