This one is after a horn on pages 48 & 49 of Dr. Jay Hopkins' "Bone tipped & Banded Horns Vol II", it is also on the cover. Can't say enough Good about the book, it was worth waiting for and opens some new areas and styles of early horn making.
It is 13" around the outside curve and 10 1/2" tip-to-tip. The butt is Apple hollowed out about 1/2". It is held in place but the same three wooden pegs that hold the base band. The tip is a two part of antler the tip pinned to the collar with three wooden pegs and to the horn with three more. The two small bands are held with three Iron pins each. The lower band is held with four wooden pegs. The color is AF with Brown shoe polish.
Fitting those two horns was a pain.
