Chris Hirsch early French lock

This lock intrigues me for some reason. Unfortunately, I can’t find any imagery of original arms that used this kind of lock, except a fancy officers pistol with one kind of close. Anyone used this lock on a build yet?

Hi Clark,
Get a copy of Torsten Lenk's "The Flintlock: its origin and development".  It contains many examples of these early flintlocks.  After the French developed this "true" form of what we commonly call flintlocks, everybody copied them so that design can be found on German, Dutch, and even a few English guns from the 1650s onward.
