went out shooting today and this time took the file to finally sight my Lancaster in for deer season. I'm pretty new to muzzle loading and from what I have read on this site and others my results are somewhat non typical. First off they are with a .562 ball with pillow ticking that is thin enough to load quite easily compared to the same patch with a .570 ball. secondly with that ball and patch combo I experienced patch cutting with 2f powder. I spent the day shooting different loads and finally filed the front sight for 2 in. high dead center at 50 yds. for 100 grs. 3f primed with the same and it consistently shot extremely tight clover leafs. Finally I stopped taping over the holes and I was eventually just shooting through the same hole. I'm very happy with the results because I can use the same powder for priming and where I hunt in northern MN. I have never shot a deer beyond 80 yds.
