THE CIRCLE OF THE MECHANICAL ARTS
Here's the link to this book online and also downloadable as a PDF
http://books.google.com/books?printsec=frontcover&dq=THE+CIRCLE+OF+THE+MECHANICAL+ARTS&pg=RA1-PA390&id=6_oGAAAAQAAJ#v=onepage&q=&f=true

This book contains chapters on all kinds of different trades:

The Chapter on Gunmaking includes the flint making info.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Great link Chuck..thanks...
I was reading in the chapter on tanning and chuckled to read where they customarily bated the limed hides in great vats of pigeon dung....I didnt see pigeon farming in the books table of contents, but man, thats alot of bird @#$%/!!...hate to be a statue in those days.
