Another Banded N. C. Style Horn
« on: May 15, 2022, 03:39:28 PM »
It is about 13" around the outside curve and 10 1/2 tip-to-tip. The Butt is Walnut hollowed out about 3/4's its length. I is held in by 8 wooden pegs. The tip is a two part of antler, pinned together with 3 pegs and to the horn with 3 more. The bands were heated and pressed on, secured with 3 steel pins each.

Cool banded horn. The contrasting bands are nice. I like the deep turned groove in the base plug too.  Very nice.

Wonderful horn.  Expertly done.  Your turning work is impressive to me.  The contrasting band is not my favorite but I still would be proud to carry it on my side.

Thanks to all for the positive comments.  Yea keen I'm with you, I'm thinking of taking that band off. I didn't realize it was so off until I took the Pix.
