Tennessee Horn

 This on is after a horn on page 148-149 of Dr. Hopkins' book "Bone Tipped & Banded Horns Pt II".
 It is about 13 1/4" around the outside curve and 11 1/2 tip-to-tip. The butt is Walnut threaded 1/2-8 for the Hickory finial, it is 2 1/2" in diameter and held in by 8 wooden pegs. The tip of the original was a screw tip but I decided to pin this one in place, it is Horn and help by3 wooden pegs, the stopper is broken in half. The large band is 7/8" wide, it was heated and pressed on. There are shadows of two lost bands, the one at the staple is hard to see. The two piece strap is 5/8" with a home made buckle. It was scraped before the color was added, color is Yellow and Orange dye followed by Brown Stain and Black paint all rubbed back, followed by Brown shoe polish that was not buffed.

That one would go really well with a Kibler version of the Whitson.  I like the character in that one Tim.
