I think your looking for alloy 260. MSC has it in12"x 12" sheets, also larger sizes. TVM above seems to have reasonable prices for small pieces as above. TOTW and Muzzle loaders builder supply as well.

I got a 12" x 24" piece of alloy 260 x 1/16" thick from McMaster Carr three guns ago. Still have plenty. If you are going to build several guns the big pieces will save quite a bit of money over little chunks. Both in the price per square inch and the fact that you can cut it in such a way as to waste less.

There's a shop for radio controlled toys near me that has lots of brass sheet in various sizes and thicknesses.  I haven't used any of it, but seems they have a good selection and reasonable prices.

I think Dixons, in Kempton, PA, sells most thicknesses.  He also should have German silver sheets.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot & look at the brass door kickplates.  A sheet of that will last ya a long time.

MSCdirect.com

260 alloy
Almost any width/length/thickness you might want up to perhaps 8 feet long.
I think the smallest is 12"x12" arrives in 2 days in most cases.

Looks like the easiest is MSC, I can pick it up at local outlet same day if I order before 11:00 am.  Birddog  kickplates good idea I've used them before when I could get them used off of old doors.  My contractor source is not doing much work lately tho on commerical remodels.

Just be careful buying kick plates at some of the "home stores" because they are only brass plated and not real brass.  Be sure and read the label.

Some alloys are reddish. Doesn't look right alongside the Buttplate. Stick with the 260 if you can get it.

MSC has been extremely reliable for me and I have ordered a lot of stuff from them over the years.

David   my local MSC charges no shipping if you pick up theoroder at the local outlet.  If they mail it to you yes they charge shipping.  ask them about this if you are close enough to pick up your order.  If I order my 11:00 am the order is usually shipped to the local sales office and I can pick it up that day, with no shipping charge.
