Southern Rifle

Hi, I'm new here. I was sent here from a local gun builder in hopes of getting some info on my rifle. I really don't know much about it. It was given to me by my late Father in Law. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you!

Unique cheekpiece. Some pictures of the tang and close ups of muzzle and sights might help. Heavy curved butt with no plate. Trigger guard is nice, especially if original to the rifle.

Looks like it once had a forward lock bolt. Wonder if it was originally flint?
