Bucks County LR nearly done.
« on: August 24, 2022, 07:34:02 PM »
The pics are of my last BC LR and are not of a finished LR but a BC that's nearing completion.....a few things have to be done yet...the entry pipe is of a  finished pic as is the Pbox. ...didn't have  pics just after inletting. Even I was amazed at the slenderness of these BCs....The 1/16" web at the breech and the 5/32" at the muzzle helped a lot......Fred

Fread - what are the wrist dimensions - height/width?

The vertical dim for the wrist is 1-1/4"...the horizontal is 1-5/16". The pic below is of a different BC but the top view would be the same. The view of the entry pipe shows a slightly different version.....Fred

Fred I think you have done it , looking for something with my next build and if you don't mind I might be looking to emulate your work. Simply , subtly NICE !!!!! Your trigger guard and butt plate , whose, where did you get them, pics would be nice. Did you make the patch box from scratch? Did you have a template to go off of for outline of the stock? I need something to charge the batteries, the weather here in southeast PA is nothing short of extremely dry (haven't cut grass in 7 weeks) , the farm is on the road to the worst year in 40 years. Thanks for the pic me up and wow , that is really NICE.         Steve

The TG was from Reeves Goehring who has passed on. His  daughter might have one. Forgot where the Bplate came from....it req'd some work.  Both of these items are available from Knob Mountain. The BC Pboxes were all  scratch built. Made a buttstock  tracing from a Shuler in RCA1 and enlarged it on the computer.  Chose John Shuler because many of his BCs had both a curved comb and toeline which I prefer.  Saw a Weiker side opening  BC Pbox  that had sideplates and my version is shown below......Fred

I really didn't expect all the accolades...really. Seeing I no longer build because of failing eyesight, I am elated because of the photos I took of the BCs...both completed and in various  stages of being built,....brings back fond memories. Also built a few other styles and  two  pics of  my last Lancaster are shown  below. It uses a Dale Johnson lock. My Lancaster builds have hand drawn stock designs vs the BCs that are laid out using a template.....Fred
